INTERNAL SEMINAR: Study of Photovoltaic Energy Penetration Impact in IEEE test feeders using OpenDSS software- Friday 4 june 2021,11:00-12:00

Summary

Today, the electric grid is experiencing a huge capacity of PV installation. The increasing power penetration is going to create more challenges and impacts on the electric distribution systems. In view of this, the proposed conference will be focusing on the presentation of the open source software “OpenDSS” which can be used to study and analyze electrical grids under different operating conditions, and then to find solutions to ensure holistic integration of solar energy into the electric grid despite the presence of difficult circumstances related to the random nature of solar energy due to the permanent changes in weather conditions. The solar energy integration is performed considering the nature of the different connected loads to the grid like commercial and residential buildings. A special interest will be given to the IEEE test feeders.
